WATCH: LBC Goes Down The Orbit Slide

LBC has had an early ride on the new Slide at the Orbit sculpture in Stratford and you can see what it's like to take a ride on Europe's tallest tunnel slide.


LBC has had an early ride on the new Slide at the Orbit in Stratford - watch what it's like to go down the longest slide in the world... and no, we haven't sped this video up at all!

The distinctive AncelorMittal Orbit has stood in Stratford since 2012 but the Slide will open for the first time on June 24th this year.

Our Sports Correspondent John Cushing was one of the very first people to ride it and as you can see in the video, he had one heck of a ride.

These images show the last few sections being added: 

Measuring 178m, the slide will see riders reach a speed of up to 15mph as they travel through the 30 separate sections that twist and turn 12 times.
