London Bridge Evacuation

The area around London Bridge and the nearby train station was evacuated this afternoon after a security alert - but it now appears to be over.

A Met Police spokesman earlier said: "The area around London Bridge and the nearby train station have been evacuated this afternoon after a security alert.

"The train station has been closed as a precaution because we believe that there is a vehicle there that is suspicious."

Network Rail tweeted: "The London Bridge Bus Station has been evacuated.

Southeastern Railway tweeted: "Because of a security alert at London Bridge, the station has had to be evacuated and at present no trains can pass through."
