Terry Fig, 68, Was Jailed

A former scout leader has been jailed for 13 years for 11 offences of indecent assault on young boys.

Terry Figg, 68, of Cook Road, Stevenage, was sentenced at Croydon Crown Court yesterday for sexually abusing four boys between 1970 and 1980.

Figg met the young boys, who were all under 14, through his position as a scout leader in the Orpington area.

He was initially arrested on March 19 2015 for the historic sex offences and charged on January 21 this year.

Figg was bailed and appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court on February 17.

Detective Sergeant Samantha Townsend, from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, said:

"Figg is a dangerous sexual predator who abused his position of trust to prey on young vulnerable children.

"I would like to commend the victims for their courage in coming forward and helping us to get Figg convicted."
