Demands for answers after MP's arrest

A senior police officer is being brought in to investigate the arrest of Tory front bench spokesman Damian Green. The move follows criticism by oppostition MPs about the role of both the police and the Speaker of the House of Commons in his detention. The police inquiry relates to Home Office leaks. Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has been telling LBC's James Whale why MPs have been making such a fuss.

A report's emerged suggesting ministers were told the Olympics would be good for having a party, but not much else. The Evening Standard says analysts found little social or economic justification for bidding for London 2012.

A jury at the Jean Charles de Menezes inquest has been told to return an open verdict or lawful killing. Unlawful killing has been ruled out because that would be deemed to be apportioning blame.

In sport, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's giving youth a chance again tonight, as the Gunners go to Burnley for their Carling Cup quarter-final.
