On November 29th 2011 Chancellor George Osborne delivered his Autumn Statement - an update on the country's finances and the impact it will have on our own.
In the opening part of his speech Mr Osborne said the Government will do "whatever it takes" to protect Britain from the "debt storm" in Europe.
The UK must demonstrate that it is able "to live within its means" if it is to avoid slipping back into recession, Chancellor George Osborne also said.
