In a report published earlier this year, the Office for National Statistics stated that the UK has an ageing population. The proportion of under 16 year olds has decreased over the last thirty years, while the proportion of those aged 65 and over has increased. So it’s no surprise that more and more people in the mature age bracket are joining the dating game.

No longer satisfied with a gentle game of bowls in the park, we’re more likely to hear of our older counterparts throwing themselves out of aeroplanes, joining yoga classes and yes, even dating in the 21st century. Being a golden oldie has never been more fun.
 
And let’s face it, older men and women today have more sex appeal than ever, you only need to look at the likes of Madonna, Kylie, George Clooney and Richard Gere to see that they’ve still got the sex factor!

Don’t despair because the dating world is enjoying a boom in single people who fall in the more mature age bracket. It’s surprising how many people will criticise their appearance in their photo caption. The funny thing is, this often seems to occur when the photo is actually very flattering. For example, some men will draw attention to their grey hair as a negative trait, yet a lot of women, (including younger women), won’t necessarily be put off by grey hair. So try not to highlight any signs of age in a negative way.
