Plumstead Murder: Man ArrestedTuesday 29th January 2013
A man has been arrested over the murder of a man in Plumstead.
Police were called to reports of a man assaulted at an address in Elmdene Road just after 2am this morning.
Officers and the ambulance service found the victim - believed to be in his 30s - suffering stab injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 44-year-old man was arrested a shortly after in Well Hall Road on suspicion of murder.
He was taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.
Officers believe they know the identity of the victim but are waiting for formal idenitification.
Officers from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating and say they are keeping an open mind as to motive.
