Thieves Use Telehandler To Rip Cash Machine From Nationwide Branch

Astonishing footage of thieves ripping a cash machine from a Nationwide branch has been released by police.

The brazen ram-raiders smashed a Bobcat telehandler into the building society in Leicestershire on Monday morning.

The incredible CCTV shows the machinery repeatedly being driven into the building in the town centre of Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

Extensive damage was caused to the branch and a large amount of debris was left sprawled across the road.

Detectives believe three vehicles were used in the robbery including a dark coloured Audi and a silver pick-up.

Police now need your help in tracing those responsible.

A spokesman from the force said: β€œThe Bobcat was used to ram the front of the building in order for the suspects to remove the cash machine which caused a significant amount of disruption.

β€œWe have released the CCTV footage which clearly shows three vehicles in the area and the incident itself taking place.”
