The Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union told LBC that negotiations will continue as parties campaign around Brexit policies.

Brexit will the issue that dominates the general election that Theresa May announced this morning she planned to hold on June 8.

“How can it be in the national interest when the EU members meet next week for their summit to decide on the negotiating tactics, that we essentially haven’t got a government anymore?” Iain Dale asked Mr Davis

“We won’t really start the negotiations until June, which is pretty much when the election will be, and it won’t really get off to much more than that until later.” Said the Brexit Secretary.
