As David Cameron steps down as an MP, Nigel Farage reveals he is eternally grateful for what Cameron said about Ukip on LBC.

Speaking to Iain Dale, the outgoing Ukip leader was asked what his abiding memory of David Cameron would be. Mr Farage cast his mind back to an incident from LBC in 2006.

Mr Farage believes that this put down annoyed a lot of people who weren’t happy with the current political state and drove them towards Ukip. As he puts it, “It did me, in my career, the most enormous favour, and I’ll thank him forever.”

Iain also asked Nigel Farage what one word he would use to describe David Cameron "arrogant", was his reply. He believes Mr Cameron saw himself as being above ordinary people, which was a fatal poltical flaw.

Mr Farage also agreed with Alex Salmond's assessment of Mr Cameron as "a lucky politician whose luck ran out."
