Labour MEP Who Mocked Farage: "Marine Le Pen Is Lying To You!"

A Labour MEP who held a “he’s lying to you” sign behind Nigel Farage’s back has insisted Theresa May must not invite outspoken French Presidential hopeful Marine Le Pen to Downing Street.

In an exclusive interview with Nigel Farage on LBC, the Front National leader said she felt "snubbed" by Theresa May after the UK Prime Minister met Centrist candidate Emmanuel Macron last month.

Seb Dance, who made national headlines in February for his mocking of Nigel in Brussels, dismissed the idea of any visit by Ms Le Pen in the future as he also branded her a "liar".

Speaking to Ian Payne on LBC shortly after the interview was broadcast, the London MEP said: "If Theresa May has any sense at all she would not be inviting the leader of the National Front of France to Downing Street.

"There are very few candidates for any elected office who visit a sitting prime minister or head of government before hand, it so happens that Mr Macron decided that he would visit the UK and asked to see the prime minister and she accepted, but if she's got any sense she wouldn't do what LBC has just done and effectively give Marine Le Pen a platform."

Challenged by Ian on how a visit by Ms Le Pen would differ from when President Xi of China visited the UK in 2015, Mr Dance continued: "You can't put the the President of China on the same political spectrum as the leader of the far right in France.

"The president of China, a country which for all intents and purposes is part of the economic system and in fact if anything they become one of the key defenders of globalisation as opposed to her who comes up with these solutions that are not addressing the problems that people face."
