James O'Brien: This is why taking a "wait and see" approach with Donald Trump is no longer good enough.
Any negative polls are fake news, just like the CNN, ABC, NBC polls in the election. Sorry, people want border security and extreme vetting.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 6, 2017
James was reacting to this tweet from Donald Trump and it prompted him to reflect on the "wait and see" approach that some people are still advocating we take with the new US President.
"This is really scary," says James. "It's real, this tweet."
"I think it was Lenin who said: 'If you tell a lie often enough, it becomes the truth.'
"And there it is, again, in the 21st Century. Slightly different wording, precisely the same point.
"Anything that challenges my version of reality is a lie, says the man on whose payroll sits a woman who invented a terrorist atrocity to retrospectively justify a ban on refugees.
"An attack that had never occurred."
James then responded to the people who have told him personally to take a "wait and see" approach with Trump, despite the controversial policies already enacted since he took office.
"I'll tell you why I'm taking it very seriously.
"I made this terrible mistake throughout my adult life of reading history books."
