US Must Beware Of Pakistan's Uncomfortable Involvement In Afghanistan, Says Maajid Nawaz

Pakistan had a hand in boosting the Taliban in Afghanistan - and that's going to make it messy for the US, says Maajid Nawaz.

Donald Trump announced he will increase the number of US troops in Afghanistan, promising to "fight to win" America's longest war.

Maajid welcomed that, to help the Afghan army with training and special forces assignments.

But he insisted that the nation's neighbours need to play a bigger role in creating a new Afghanistan. And he highlighted an uncomfortable truth about how Pakistan helped the Taliban as how difficult politics in the region will be for the Americans.
