Matt Frei told LBC listeners of the terrifying moment he was caught in an earthquake - and the piece of advice that saved his life.
Matt, currently standing in for Nick Ferrari at Breakfast on LBC, told of the moment the buildings started to shake when he was in Japan.
He spoke of the terror as everything shook and he went to go outside - but one piece of advice saved his life.
He said: "I've covered quite a few earthquakes in my career as a journalist and they are incredibly upsetting, especially the big ones, with many thousands of people dead, infrastructure collapsed and help slow to come, it is a cataclysmic disaster when it's on a big scale.
"But it is always the buildings that kill, not the earthquake."
Listen to Matt's vital advice on the video at the top of the page.
