This caller chased a 15-year-old after he stole his moped and carried out a citizens arrest.

Organised gangs on mopeds avoid being properly pursued by police because the authorities risk being prosecuted for dangerous driving.

The shadow policing minister Louise Haigh has called for a review on police driving laws after officers were warned by the Police Federation not to carry out emergency manoeuvres that would be illegal for any other “careful and competent” driver.

Matt Stadlen, standing in for Maajid Nawaz, asked his listeners whether civilians should intervene in the mean time.

One caller, Jonathan, phoned in to say yes.

While he would never call for vigilantism, he told Matt he had made three citizen's arrest, including one which had a pretty dramatic outcome.

Watch to see what he had to say.
