No Logical Reason For Assad To Gas Syria, Nigel Farage Claims

The West believes the Syrian Government is responsible for a deadly chemical attack in the war-torn country - but Nigel Farage is adamant that argument holds no logic.

“Why risk everything?” A baffled Nigel said on his LBC show.

“Why on earth would Assad, given that he was winning the war, given that the international community had eased the pressure off him massively over the course of the last 18 months, why on earth would he risk all of that?”

Nigel was speaking as the US secretary of state Rex Tillerson held two hours of talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin.

Mr Tillerson said there was a “low level of trust” between Washington and Moscow as he also spoke with Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov.

Russia and Syria both deny Assad’s forces carried out the deadly attack last week, which killed over 80 people in the town of Khan Sheikhoun.

Nigel now wants both sides to come together in a bid to find out the truth once and for all.

He continued: “Perhaps I'm assuming that Syrian dictators operate on the basis of logic and perhaps I'm completely wrong.

“But I have to say I do rather agree with Sergei Lavrov, let's have an investigation, let's send in the United Nations or someone like that and let's find out the truth.”
