Answer: Gluten is a protein and there is alcohol in beer. Alcohol is a denaturant of protein so the protein loses its structure. This does not mean that someone who has Celiac disease could drink beer, that depends on the quantity of gluten in the beer and the strength of alcohol present in the beer.
