This caller was out on a fishing trip and struggled to get his head around why boats are steered from the back, rather than the front. There were a few people that tried to answer but only one could give us an actual answer.

Question

Why are boats steered from the back, rather than the front?

Scott, Romford

Answer

When you're travelling with the tide, it's really difficult to steer from the front of the vessel, which is why steering is controlled from the bak.
