What kind of coffee do you go for? Lots of cups of instant? Home made in a posh machine? Or do you go for the coffee bar specials? Well two new coffee trends are emerging... one is that we're making more fancy coffee at home, possibly to avoid the coffee bar prices, having got a taste for it. And secondly the new coffee to choice is a "flat white". Already popular in Australia, it gets away from that "bucket of milk" feeling that you get with some shop coffees. It's a strong coffee with a bit of non-frothy milk. We talked about coming off coffee as well. It is a drug after all and the withdrawal symptoms can be awful (check out the podcast).
I thought we might be sick of the subject of MPs but the breaking news of their latest pay rise did provoke some response. On the plus side though we did hear (after midnight) lots of examples of how people had been helped by their MP after visiting their local surgery. They're not all bad, really.
Londoners are the worst for taking stuff back to the shop when it doesn't work. You could have wasted £5000 in your lifetime by no bothering and being too shy. Polite and assertive sound like the way forward - and don't be fobbed off. And hang on to your proof of purchase. In fact grab your latest tax bill and let's see if we can get a refund from the Government...
