Musicals and buskers

My favourite musicals are The Producers and the spoof one in "The Tall Guy" about the Elephant Man. Obviously it's not my thing. But last night, in honour of Andrew's new Phantom sequel, we heard great enthusiasm for musicals. A member of the cast of We Will Rock You phoned in and reminded us what a great hit that is. Wicked got a lot of plaudits. 100 million people have now seen Phantom and I'm not one of them.

 

We also talked about buskers, with Boris giving an X Factor style opportunity to aspiring musicians, with the prize - a chance to busk on the tube. They used to be awful, but I have to say the standard of buskers has improved over the last few years. We even heard one of them on the show last night who genuinely sounded rather good.  

 

On the serious side of things we talked about crime and the lack of ideas and leadership coming currently from our politicians. No wonder people are disillusioned. There is a void ready to be filled by a leader who can inspire the country. Don't hold your breath.
