Are you going to opt out?

All the topics merged into one last night. At least they all pointed in a certain direction, a direction that most didn't like about our society at the moment. Concerns about the national medical database with your records being uploaded any day now... have you opted out? A lot of people say they're going to, but you need to be quick and it's not a simple process. Doctors and pharmacists told us of the potential advantages to the system but even they were dubious about the £11bn price tag. And then there's the worry over how secure such an enormous database might be. Not very I suspect. Especially if it needs to be accessible in every NHS establishment across the land. We also discovered just how hard it is to get your medical records changed if they have made a mistake. 

 

Meanwhile the royal mail deal isn't quite what it seems. Some posties aren't happy with it at all. And we get our post later than ever - and even more junk mail. Most people told me they don't care when the post arrives - as long as it does. Even junk mail had its fans. It gets shredded up and used as padding for sending out china and as bedding for chickens. The rest is posted back into the post box judging by our texters last night. 

 

On top of that we talked the delights of Streetview, giant underwear adverts on buses and crazy level crossing near misses. A perfect slice of life in 2010.
