Police brutality. It’s a topic unlikely to leave our newspapers for now, and lots of you called in to give your views. One caller said that our stance on the show had been extremely biased; I actually think we were able to get a broad range of views across.
Many of you support the police entirely and think that in the matter of the G20 protests, the police did as well as they could under the circumstances – and that the woman now represented by Max Clifford had her own agenda. But in the case of Ian Tomlinson, you called in droves to say that police brutality really had gone too far, and that all confidence in the police force had been lost.
Broadcaster Richard Mackney gave us his best media picks of the week – and the funniest story had to be about BBC Three’s offering: My Life as an Animal. Now, it might be mildly entertaining to watch a man in a cage with a friendly tiger, but seeing humans rolling around with pigs isn’t the most exciting format I can think of. Anyway – did you watch it? I didn’t!
As ever, there’s lots going on in our great city and I’d suggest getting yourself down to the Globe to celebrate Shakespeare’s birthday. For the performers among you, there’s even an opportunity to perform a sonnet on the Globe stage…
Till next week,
Ken
