Gordon Brown has faced a tough week so far, and it can only have got worse with the council election results. It's safe to say that it was just humiliating for him and for Labour. It resulted in MORE resignations including Caroline Flint. Have the Labour rebels beaten Brown? It seems not as he came out and declared his intention to stay put. Is he doing the right thing, and how confident will he be following the reshuffle?
I spoke to Glenda Jackson MP for Hampstead and Highgate, and she believes that Gordon Brown is still the best person to lead the Labour party out of this crisis. It's not about his policy, it's about his personality. He might not have the support of all the Labour party members, but is there anyone that could do a better job?
We'll see what happens over the next seven days in Westminster, because as they say, a week is a long time in politics.
More from me next week
