Social housing has been in the news this week, because Boris want's to build thousands of new homes. It seems to be a regualar on the Mayoral manifesto that housing in London needs to be improved but will that solve the problems of housing? Many of you got in touch today to say that actually, we have the housing we need, it's just not being utilised properly. It can be very difficult to get in to social housing, especially when the queue is long, and people with greater need take priority.
I also spoke to Former Met Chief Andy Hayman about the problems with stop and search. Whilst the statistics support the claim that it hasn't been effective, Andy told me that it's also a deterrent to potential terrorists. If they know that there is a chance they could be stopped and searched they may think twice. If stop and search isn't effective though, what would be a better idea?
I'll be back with you next week
