Should the taxpayer be paying for the protection of a past president?

Plus, disruption once again for commuters on the underground.

How much is too much to spend protecting the former President of Pakistan? £25,000 a day? That's what Scotland Yard is spending protecting Pervez Musharraf. This as the number of police is due to be cut to such an extent that they may no longer be able to respond to emergency callout. What a right royal mess as Boris and the Government squabble over who should plug the funding gap for upgrades. Sympathies for those of you living on the Northern Line as you face 82 weekends of disruption.

As Marc Bolland heads to Marks and Spencers with a golden hello of £15m and Adam Crozier is off to ITV to the tune of £14m, can anyone really be worth that money? Does free market economics still work in tough economic times? Is the world of corporate leaders similar to that of Premiership footballers? Westminster council is sending London gang members on activity courses to break their cycle of crime. Isn't this just rewarding bad behaviour?

As the French model who had an affair with John Terry is reportedly considering newspaper offers of up to £250,000 to tell her story, how much would you pay? Does the story have worth for you or are you already sick of it? Plus, a row over stickers in taxis in Southampton saying the driver speaks English, and why men get depressed about different things to women.

I'll be back tomorrow morning from 7am.
