Parental consent

Living through parental abuse. Should a 16 yr old have permission from an adult to have an abortion?

I’m all of a dither.  I’ve lost my rhythm.

Instead of leaping out of bed at 5.30, doing three hours of writing, I am sliding out of bed, heading to the bathroom to splash water over my face, then setting off for early interviews, screenings, late theatre visits and finally to bed as the clock strikes two’ish

This morning was no exception I left the flat at 8.00 for Mel B. the delightfully Scary Spice Girl, who at 34 is about as scary as a marshmallow.

She’s promoting fitness first then going home to singalongamel.

On the show we talked about running barefoot, anorexia, and home gyms.

We talked about illiteracy and why reading is so important, whether there’s a window of opportunity, or whether reading can really be taught in seven days.

And then I interviewed DANA FOWLEY who’s written a harrowing book called ‘HOW COULD SHE’ it’s a horrifying read about the abuse she faced from family members including her mother. Dana wrote the book to help other abuse victims, admitting her guilt that she put her mother away for twelve years but describing the elation she feels now that she is free from her tormentors.

I’m off to the Haymarket tonight to see WAITING FOR GODOT, then it’s bed.

See what I mean, 7-2 a 19 hour day, at my age?!!
