An army chef has said that he had to feed his troops with Spam for six weeks after the Taliban shot down their food supplies. What can you do with Spam? Plenty it seems. Personally I love a spam fritter... just sliced and fried... not exactly healthy, but slightly better than the battered version. People, also suggested cubed spam with fried rice, spam fricassee and even jam and spam sandwiches.
On the serious side I tentatively suggested you might want to have another go at MPs on the so called "day of reckoning". Did you want to talk about it? A very strong yes came back. I don't think this will be the end of the matter. Removing buses from Oxford Street provoked quite a bit of reaction as well, not least from the woman who wrote the report on the subject for the London Assembly. She said she had been to Oxford Street that morning and was alarmed at the number of near empty buses clogging up the road. We also talked about the merits of plastic pint glasses for pubs. A few angry drinkers were not keen that we should all have to drink from plastic because of the idiots who use the glasses as weapons. Apparently it's not a small problem though - with around 200 glass incidents a week in pubs and clubs.
In the light of the controversial police dog blog I wondered whether any actually reads blogs anyway?... or am I wasting my time?
