How do you do?
Tonight we looked for some better suggestions for unemployed people other than fruit and veg picking in return for benefits, as suggested by a government advisory group. Despite the shortage of British workers in horticulture, we felt that individuals deserve to be encouraged into a career rather than distracted with menial tasks. Plus, an alternative to road tax as new figures show that many of us use motorways infrequently. Could a road pricing scheme be a fairer one? And as ministers request that councils look to burn unnecessary road signage we asked what street furniture you'd like to see the back of? Finally, obesity operations are on the up, and so have we become more tolerant towards larger people. Plus our addiction to shopping hasn't subsided with women spending £3400 a year on celebrity style clothes. We asked if retail therapy really is self medication for a greater problem.
All that plus a review of the front pages. Download the podcast now. I'm back on Tuesday at 10pm.
