The place where Christianity was introduced to England used to be too far for a reasonable day trip, but thanks to High Speed One it is now just 56 minutes from St Pancras. You are swiftly delivered to a city that celebrates its place in the world, but also knows how to look after visitors with a fine range of places to eat, drink and stay. And if you choose to make a weekend of it, the splendid North Downs Way offers easy access to lovely countryside.
