Well, I'm not sure how it sounded to you - but today's Travel Clinic amazed me in many respects. Not just our first caller, Bella in Cardiff, who returned from Poland full of praise for the positive, helpful attitude of Ryanair staff at Stansted, but for the amazing teamwork that enabled the first-ever Travel Clinic to come live from the glorious, sultry capital of Greece.
Iliana of the Greek National Tourism Organisation in London enlisted the support of Aris and his excellent team at Love Radio 97.5 in Athens, who performed technical miracles on the day. And a last-minute change of schedule for the cruise ship I was on, Thomson Spirit, meant I arrived at the start of the day in Santorini, a couple of hundred miles away, the Thomson team featuring Hannah in London, plus Dawn and Sheila on board, Florian in Santorini and Elena in Athens, pulled out all the stops to make the programme possible.
And finally, Carl McQueen and Rajiv Pattni kept the show on the road, with the great John Warrington in the Leicester Square studio adding five-star expertise. Not forgetting LBC's weather specialist, Chris Lowrie; and my interviewees George Nikitiadis, Deputy Minister for Culture and Tourism on Greece, and travel writer Frances Linzee Gordon for providing the some fascinating insights about the ramifications of Ramadan for holidaymakers from the UK venturing to Morocco, Egypt and Tunisia between 11 August and 9 September.
Thanks to all of them - but of course most of all to you to for some great calls, texts and emails. Now off to Santorini to continue my cruise, but back next weekend in the familiar surroundings of LBC's global headquarters.
