Slumdog Millionaire
Mis-marketed as a "feel good flick" (see picture. Movies of that nature don't normally include scenes of torture and child abuse!), this is actually a clever, original concept - superbly executed.
Top marks to all the actors, plus the editor and director of photography (the film is visually dazzling).
And Danny Boyle so deserved that Oscar!
