Snow Set To Return To London

London is bracing itself for more snowfall.

snow-stpauls-sml.jpgHaving thawed out following one of the coldest Decembers in a century, more snow is forecast to fall in London and the South East overnight on Thursday and into Friday.

The wintry weather has already hit Scotland and Northern Ireland and more snow showers are expected to return to parts of the country, bringing coverings of up to 10cm in places.

The Met Office has issued an advisory that heavy snow may fall in London. However, LBC Weather Specialist Chris Lowrie believes that is likely to be restricted to hillier parts of London and the snow will ease off, turning to rain by the weekend.

Lowrie said: "Any snow will soon turn to rain as milder air from the Atlantic sweeps across London over the next few days. This looks likely to stay with us through much of next week, although there is some indication of the cold weather returning in the second half of January."
