Where crime has a price...£20

Posted by Petrie Hosken on July 23, 2010 at 05:19AM

Is it right for the police to ignore crimes under £20? Legal Hour and who cares about public information?

First - Shopkeepers have been asked by police not to report thieves unless they steal more than twenty pounds worth of stuff.  I asked if this was the zero tolerance society we were promised?

Our legal hour was at 8 o'clock this evening when our lawyer Daniel Barnett was in the studio to take your calls and help out with any legal problems you may have had.

Finally - The Ministry of Defence has mislaid 340 laptops worth more than 600 thousand pounds in the last 2 years - only one in five of them were encrypted to protect national secrets - including the identities of 600 thousand recruits to the armed forces.  I asked - why does it seem that no one really cares about public information or public property?
