The bonfire of the quangos

Posted by Petrie Hosken on July 27, 2010 at 16:21PM

How should we solve the problem of quangos - is getting rid of them a step too far?

First - drug users could and should face civil sanctions instead of criminal penalties according to an ex drugs advisor to the government.  Do you agree with this?

Next up, the bonfire of the quangos has begun - but at what real cost?  Have you ever used a quango for help?  Do you work in a quango now and believe you do invaluable work?

At 3 we discussed how Oxford Street's heaving pavements could soon be turned into pedestrian duel carriageways to allow us locals to rush past dawdling tourists.  Does this thought make you happy?!

Finally as we mark two years until the London Olympic games, we heard from Declan Harvey from the Olympic site as he talked to Olympic Swimmer Mark Thompson.
