We started by talking about trying to solve the housing crisis and an idea that council tenants with too much room could be forced to live in smaller properties. I wanted to know if you thought this was fair?
We then moved onto a story where I was unsure which side of the fence I was on. I asked if you thought a judge has been unduly lenient after giving a suspended jail term to a 19-year-old man who had sex with a 12-year-old girl (who said she was 16)? I asked if we should enforce the age-of-consent laws more fully and whose responsibility should it be the check the age of a sexual partner?
Finally we discussed the thorny issue of insurance because a young man with a 2,000 pound car has been quoted 17,000 pounds insurance. I asked if insurance companies should be made to be more reasonable or if this was an attempt at keeping young drivers off the road?
