Riots

Following the shooting of Mark Duggan in Tottenham two days earlier, riots broke out in the borough on Saturday August 6th before spreading across the capital - and the country - in the subsequent days.

Duggan's family were quick to condemn the violence and looting for which their son's death had been the spark.

In the months following thousands have been arrested and more than 2,000 charged or summoned.
