This Call From A Heroin User Will Change The Way You Think About Addicts
Tuesday 4th February 2014
When James O'Brien held a discussion on heroin, he didn't imagine the first call would be from someone who had just injected himself.
James was asking why people use heroin following the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman, who was kicked out of his family home for using the drug.
Heroin addict Paul called in to explain why he uses - and he admitted that it is horrible and he is ashamed of his addiction. But he said that he simply can't make himself stop.
He wanted to say: "It is hard. Junkies aren't all wasters, they making a lifestyle choice. It's really horrible."
Listen to the remarkably powerful call and let us know what you think in the box below.
