Three More Arrested Over Woolwich MurderFriday 23rd November 2012
Three more men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was shot in Woolwich.
Marcus Innocent, 35, was killed on Monday (November 19) after recieving a gunshot wound to the stomach.
Beforehand a group of 15-20 people - described as being both black and white - were seen gathering behind a parade of shops nearby.
Police belive Marcus was set upon by one person from the group first and then by more of them.
Three men have already been arrested and bailed. The latest three are all in their early 20s.
An incident room has been opened under the command of Detective Chief Inspector Chris Le Pere, of the Trident Gang Crime Command.
DCI Le Pere said: "I appeal to anyone who was in the area of Lord Warwick Street and Kingsman Street that evening who saw this group or who may have seen the events leading up to this murder.
"We believe the victim, who lived locally, was attacked by a group of people congregating in Lord Warwick Street near to the junction with Kingsman Street. However at this early stage the motive for this murder is unclear.
"If you witnessed this shooting, or the events leading up to or immediately after it, please call the incident room."
