Commuters are facing a nightmare journey into London this morning after services were affected by a fire.
Network Rail said that a fire in a tunnel near west Ruislip yesterday caused severe damage to important cables.
Chiltern Railways services, which usually arrive at Marylebone, are stopping at Harrow-On-The-Hill. Passengers are advised to travel on the Metropolitan Line to Baker Street.
Trains between Birmingham and London Marylebone via High Wycombe will start and terminate at West Ruislip. Passengers are advised to travel on the Central Line between West Ruislip and central London then change at Oxford Circus on the Bakerloo line to reach London Marylebone.
A spokesperson for Network Rail said: "The fire has caused extensive damage to signalling and communication cables within the tunnel which is likely to take approximately 24 hours to repair."Passengers may use Virgin Trains, London Midland, First Great Western, CrossCountry and London Underground services on reasonable routes.
