This was one of my favourite films of last year. It's pretty much guaranteed the Oscar for Best Animated Film, but I'm so glad it's also in the running for Best Picture and that Pete Docter, Bob Peterson and Thomas McCarthy have received a nomination for their original screenplay (clearly inspired by Werner Herzog's 'Fitzcarraldo').
Yes, the movie loses something when not experienced in 3D, but it's still an enjoyable, funny and, at times, heart-breaking adventure. For the record, I cried twice!
I strongly recommend the Blu-ray version - which offers reference quality HD video. Make sure you check out the supporting feature 'Partly Cloudy' and the Pixar short 'Dug's Special Mission'.
