Iain trades blows with Ann Coulter who insists America wasn’t founded on immigration - and her Dutch ancestors weren’t migrants.

Ann Coulter has been described as “America’s most hated” and the US Katie Hopkins thanks to her controversial statements about Muslims, Jews, liberals, Mexicans and the disabled.

Iain Dale got a taste of how she has acquired her reputation when he spoke to her on his drive time show and got into the contentious subject of immigration.

Iain challenged Ann on the language she and Donald Trump use when it comes to immigration, pointing out that America was built by immigrants and that her ancestors would have come from another country. Ann didn’t share this view.

"No. No, no, no, no, no. My ancestors came in 1640 from the Netherlands."

Ann argued that there was no America before her ancestors arrived and that they built it, at which point she made some derogatory comments about the people who actually lived on the continent first, the native Americans.

"If it was the native Americans we would still be chasing the rear end of some buffalo every time our stomachs growled and living in teepees."
