Police tried to keep the groups apart but missiles were thrown and some individuals have broken through police lines to attack the other group.

LBC reporter Bryony Waite was covering the protests in Dover and said far-right protestors told her she "should be raped."

Waite said she saw a number of badly injured people with bricks being thrown by opposing protestors.

Reports have emerged that a coach of antifascist protestors were ambushed at a motorway service station nearby. Shadow cabinet minister Diane Abbot addressed the anti-racism event earlier in the day.
