When Boris Helped Nick Do Ice Bucket Challenge

Thursday 28th July 2014

This is the moment that Boris Johnson helped Nick Ferrari to complete the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Nick had been nominated by Darren Gough and Nicky Clarke for the charity challenge, so after Ask Boris, he asked the Mayor to tip a bucket of ice cold water over his head.

Nick donated money to Motor Neurone Disease and the Mayor's Reading Fund and nominated his two sons and Julian Assange.

The Ice Bucket Challenge has been a viral sensation around the world, raising millions of pounds for charity.

And yesterday, it was announced that the money raised in the stunt led to a breakthrough.

Researches have identified a new gene associated with the disease, which experts say could lead to new treatment possibilities.
