WATCH: The Dangers Of Cycling In London

Monday 13th February 2012

As he continues his campaign to make cycling safer in London, Nick Ferrari sent LBC 97.3 reporter Declan Harvey out on a Boris Bike around the capital.

After a series of high-profile cyclist deaths, Declan was sent out with a helmet camera to find out just how dangerous cycling around London's streets is.

Hiring a Boris Bike from outside LBC Towers at Leicester Square, Declan cycled up to the controversial junction at King's Cross, which cyclists claim is one of the most dangerous in London.

He then headed down to Bishopsgate, where one of London's most experienced cycle-couriers Henry Warwick was killed last week.

During his two hours on a bike, he was cut up by pedestrians, vans and in one frightening occasion almost knocked off when a black taxi turned right in front of him.

Nick Ferrari started his cycling campaign after securing a meeting between Roads Minister Mike Penning and Debbie Dorling, the widow of Brian Dorling who died cycling at Bow Roundabout.
