WATCH: Woman Arrested Over Racist Train Rant

Friday 2nd December 2011

A woman has been arrested after being caught on camera allegedly hurling racist abuse at passengers on a train.

The arrest comes three days after Emma West was charged with a racially-aggravated public order offence following a racist rant on Croydon Tramlink.

The first video, uploaded in October 2009, shows a woman on a train from London Bridge yelling: "You're in my country now, talk my language."

The British Transport Police said: "I can confirm that a 38-year-old woman voluntarily attended a police station in Stevenage on Thursday, 1 December, to be interviewed under caution.

"This related to a second video which had been posted on YouTube and which was brought to our attention. The woman, from Stevenage, was interviewed by BTP officers and has been reported for racially-aggravated disorderly behaviour. A file will be prepared for the Crown Prosecution Service in due course.

"The incident was originally reported to police as having taken place on a train between London and Manchester but officers now believe it occurred between Stevenage and Peterborough around two years ago.

"It is important that incidents are reported either as they take place or, if that isn’t possible, as soon as possible afterwards as this allows us to respond and investigate quickly."

A third video was also discovered on YouTube showing a woman shouting racist abuse on the tube.

WARNING: VIDEO CONTAIN VERY STRONG LANGUAGE AND OFFENSIVE MATERIAL
