What Happens to Old Olympic Torches?

Question

What do they do with the old Olympic torch at the end of each Olympics? Where are they now?
Ronnie, North Circular

Answer

** Definitive **
Name: David, Harrow
Qualification: A company I worked for refurbished the 1948 torch
Answer: The torches are held by the host stadium. For instance, the 1948 Olympic torch is held at Wembley Stadium. I've held the 1948 torch. The Olympic torch is lit every four years on Mount Olympus, from the heat of the sun, which causes a flame and that's where the Olympic flame comes from.
