What happens to your postal vote if you die?

ballot

Question

I just placed my postal vote for the election. What would happen with that vote if I died between now and the election?
David, Woodford Green

Answer

Name: Eric, London
Qualification: Curiosity
Answer: I asked a friend once who was a council official and he told me that "your vote dies with you". So they intend to remove the votes. But I'm not sure how the constituencies all weed out those that have died in between. It would be a lot of work for a few votes.
