What is pain? Why does my finger hurt?


What is a pain? My little finger has hurt for two weeks, so what is the pain I am feeling?

Answer: Around the body, we have specialised recepetor cells called nocireceptors which pick up a stimulus. So when you bang a joint, then these nocireceptors are fending off the impulse into your spinal cord, which travel up to your brain, which is when you feel pain.
