Where does 'Molotov Cocktail' come from?

Question

Where does the term 'molotov cocktail' come from?

Answer

** Definitive **
Name: Ben, Camberwell
Qualification: Studied History at university
Answer: Molotov was a Bolshevik. He was the People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs in Russia in the 1930s. In 1939 the Russians invaded Finland in the 'Winter War'. Molotov claimed that they were not bombing the Fins but dropping food parcels so the Finnish people began naming things like cluster bombs 'Molotov's Foodbaskets' and the petrol bombs they were throwing at tanks 'Molotov's Cocktails'.
