Answer
** Definitive **
Name: Joe
Qualification: Used to work on a SWAG stall.
Answer: Going back 50 years, I worked as a Saturday boy at a well-known market in London - Portobello Road. We had a SWAG stall. People would always ask us if they could bring items back if there was a problem, but we used to say "Sorry no, it's Sold Without A Guarantee". Occasionally, we may have sold items of "incorrect provenance" might have been sold there, so that's where it came from
Name: Ralph
Qualification: Used to watch Minder!
Answer: An unsavoury character once told me this - and I also heard in it Minder (the proper one, not the strange new thing with Shane Ritchie). It stands for Sold Without A Guarantee.
